Hotel programmes may offer a cash-like credit, points or a mixture of both. The better choice depends on how you book and how often you return.
Compare earning and redemption
Use a realistic stay cost and calculate what you could redeem on your next likely trip. Ignore perks that require a tier you will not reach.
Read booking-channel rules
Some programmes award less or nothing on third-party reservations. Compare the direct rate with other available rates before counting rewards.
Check the fine print
Look for expiry, excluded dates and whether credit can pay taxes or extras. The reward should reduce a purchase you would make anyway.
Details and policies can change. Check the current terms with the seller or provider before deciding.
