A low nightly rate can become an expensive stay once taxes, breakfast, parking and local fees are added. Compare the final payable amount for the same dates, room and cancellation terms.

Start with the payable total

Open the final checkout screen before deciding which site is cheaper. Record mandatory taxes and fees, then check whether the currency will be converted by your bank or the booking platform.

Check what the room includes

Breakfast, parking, Wi-Fi and late checkout can change the value of an offer. A slightly higher rate may be the better choice if it includes services you would otherwise buy.

Keep the terms side by side

Compare cancellation deadlines, payment timing and refund method. Save a copy of the rate rules shown at checkout, because the advertised headline does not describe every condition.

Details and policies can change. Check the current terms with the seller or provider before deciding.
